John F. Walker
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR 2001 - 2003

John F. Walker, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 84th International Convention, held in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, July 2-6, 2001,

Past Director Walker is a retired elementary school principal.

A member of the Sterling Heights Lions Club since 1982, Past Director Walker has held many offices within the association, including club president, council chair, zone chair, region chair, cabinet secretary/treasurer, and district governor. He has served on numerous committees on the club, district, and international levels and as a moderator, discussion leader, and presenter at the USA/Canada Forum. Past Director Walker was also trustee and vice president of the Lions of Michigan Service Foundation.

In recognition of his service to the association, Past Director Walker has received numerous awards, including the Lion of the Year, the 100 % District Governor Award, three District Governor's Appreciation Awards, the 100% Secretary Award, numerous International President's Certificates of Appreciation, four International President's Medals, the International President's Leadership Award, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, a Key Member, and a Life Member of the Association.

Past Director Walker has continued his service to the association. He served as faculty member for the MERL Seminar, District Governors-Elect Seminar, Emerging Lions Leadership Institute, Senior Lions Leadership Institute, and a participant in the Faculty Development Institute. He served as chairperson of the Michigan Lions Leadership Institute and as a member of two Planning Committees of the USA/Canada Forum. Past Director Walker is a National/Multi=National Coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II.

Past Director Walker and his wife, Karen, also a Lion and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two children and two grandchildren. Past Director Walker and his wife, Karen, now reside in Surprise, Arizona, USA and are members of the Sunset Peoria Lions Club, Peoria, Arizona, US
